Since everyone is wringing their hands about gun control, it’s about time they go back and read the Second Amendment to the Constitution, which is the part of the Bill of Rights that protects the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
Instead of going through all the machinations that the gun ban enthusiasts are proposing, I think the federal government should just put a ban on criminal activities and criminals.
Just think, by banning all criminal activity, there would be no reason for people to get all bent out of shape because some of us possess guns. Since the federal government thinks banning guns would reduce gun violence, a ban of criminal activity would solve the problem.
Now the Second Amendment would not have any ambiguity, and the reason for it (to protect us from the government) would be understood by both citizens and the government.
Do you think maybe there’s an underlying reason why so many in government are anti-gun enthusiasts?
