I'm writing this as a rebuttal to what Pam Wilson said about the hunters and the photos of them with their success of thinning out the deer population in the area.

Ms. Wilson, you obviously think deer are like Bambi – that cute little character Walt Disney created, and is a classic animated movie. I will tell you that is so far from the truth about deer.

Do you realize that hunters, even though you may be sickened by their presence, are doing the communities a favor by doing what they do? Have you ever come face to face with a buck deer in the wild Ms. Wilson? Everyday construction is tearing away at wooded areas to make more housing or companies to supply work for human beings. It's not unusual for wild animals, especially deer, to be coming into human populated areas searching for food and shelter

Do you also realize that hunters mostly harvest the deer meat for consumption and also donate deer meat to many homeless shelters in their areas? You do eat meat don't you, Ms. Wilson? I don't hear you crying about cows, pigs, chickens, lambs or sheep being slaughtered for human consumption huh? How about fish?

Hunting has been going on for centuries and it's a way people put food on the table for their families. Just because the pictures upset your poor sensitive self doesn't mean they don't serve a purpose.

Ask hunters about just how dangerous deer are, Ms. Wilson. Those antlers are a very dangerous weapon and can gore an innocent person very quickly. Deer cause more deaths when it comes to man and wild animal confrontations than any other animal. More deer are found moving into areas populated with humans everyday and numbers for these confrontations will increase if the deer population is not controlled. Naive thinking like yours, Ms. Wilson is extremely dangerous. You need to see the whole picture.

To all the hunters that made the paper: GREAT JOB and enjoy the venison from the deer.

Maybe you should unsubscribe to The Suburbanite Ms. Wilson. You just don't get the whole picture of what is going on in the first place.

Maybe when you confront Bambi in your backyard someday you will see they're not the cute little animals you think they are.
