The man and his girlfriend are both in their mid-20s. She lives in Massillon and works in Akron. He lives in Akron and works in Navarre. Our area should be nothing more than a place to drive through on a daily basis. But they were so impressed by what they saw, they opted to spend a weekend here. In doing so, they fell in love with our community.

Think about this. Your spouse, kids and you have been out boating, swimming and just relaxing. You've packed a cooler with cold drinks, sandwiches, fried drumsticks, fruit, chips and pretzels and you're having a grand time.

I love to read books, magazines, good Irish poetry and, especially, newspapers. Nothing's more enjoyable that sitting at the table, relaxing with a morning cup of hot coffee and opening the paper to catch up on all that's happening.

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a time of remembering those who have died. In the early 1950s it was celebrated each year on May 30.
