I find it ironic that the Bill Day editorial cartoon on Friday's Letters Page, which announced that April is child-abuse-prevention month, coincided with the Dispatch article "Man sentenced for sex with teen at church camp," which reported the sentencing of the rapist of a teenage boy in a Far East Side church.

My stomach churned with anger as I read that Franklin County Common Pleas Judge Mark Serrott acknowledged his leniency for this crime because he didn't want to appear vindictive.

Serrott should have followed his heart; there is nothing wrong with a little righteous anger. This boy's life has been permanently changed by what occurred. and the judge did little in helping his recovery.
