I have been a resident in Green for over two years now.  In these past two years I have enjoyed everything that Green has to offer.  We have beautiful parks, we have one of the top school systems in the state of Ohio, and Green was named “One of the greatest cities to raise a family” in 2007 by Businessweek.com. However, the conditions of most of the major roads within our community is concerning.

Last week while traveling west on Greensburg Road, I came through a section where I felt as if I had somehow hit a time-portal and landed in the streets of Beirut. The street itself looks like it had been bombed repeatedly. There are potholes the size of small countries.  And this isn’t the only area of public road that is in shambles. And this is where I would like to ask your readers for help in locating other streets that are desperately in need of repair.

I encourage your readers who reside within the city limits of Green, who are in most cases tax paying citizens, to write letters to the City Counsel.  Within these letters please name specific streets that are in need of attention, and also demand that something be done. Not only is this an aesthetic issue, but also an issue of safety. It is only a matter of time with the increase number of families moving into the city limits, which in turn creates more travel, that someone will have an accident due to the condition of these roads. I would hate for someone to lose a child, a mother, a father, a son, a daughter, or any loved one because our Public Roads Department felt this wasn’t an issue needing serious attention.
