Karen Soblosky McCord (nee McCord), 53, passed away surrounded by her family April 12. She was proud to be an emergency room nurse at Akron Children’s Hospital for many years and was held in high esteem by all her co-workers and those with whom she came in contact through her nursing service.

She meant a great deal to all of her neices and nephews being a surrogate mom to all. She has gone on to be with her nephews Matthew and Daniel and is survived by her mom, Barbara McCord, sister Sharon (Don) Bahr, Lori DiNuoscio, Chris (Mark) Reels, and family members, Marc, Lon, Russell, Russey, Ashley, Lisa, Pat, Tricia, Jason, Caitlyn, Julie, Jake, Brian and Emily. Also her faithful companions E.D. and Jay.
At her wish, cremation took place. Schemesser Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
