Charline Stokes, 85, of Port Clinton, OH passed away, Monday, October 5, 2009 at The Toledo Hospital, Toledo, OH. She was born on June 22, 1924 in Millford, OH, the daughter of Don and Madge Highwarden. Charline graduated from Central (Hower) School in Akron, OH. On July 3, 1946 in Akron, OH, she married Sylvester W. Stokes, the former long time Green Youth Sports Commissioner. Sons Tyrone and Walter were graduates of Green High School. Sylvester preceded her in death on September 26, 2008. Charline was retired from the Ohio Edison Company in Akron, OH. She was a member of Erie Shores Assembly of God, Port Clinton, OH. Charline will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.
Survivors include: Sons: Walter Stokes and Tyrone Stokes both of Port Clinton, OH; Grandsons: Chris W. Stokes of Port Clinton, OH and Bryce Stokes of Fremont, OH Granddaughters: Keeana and Jasmine Stokes both of Columbus, OH; many loving nieces and nephews. Charline was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Sylvester Stokes and daughter: Joyce Stokes.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m., Monday, October 12, 2009 in the Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH, where the Funeral Services will be conducted by Pastor Harry Hunt at 2:00PM. Interment will be in Christy Chapel Cemetery, Port Clinton, OH. Memorial contributions may be given to the Kruse Academy of MMA (Martial Arts Center), 426 W. Fremont Rd., Port Clinton, OH.
