"I was born on 7-9-11," she often said with a smile and a chuckle.  She passed away in a nursing home in the Portage Lakes area, just blocks from the home
she shared with her late husband Steve Zeh.  He was an assistant VP at
Goodyear Tire.

She was the last surviving grandchild of local author Peter Peterson Cherry (1848--1937), who wrote stories of the Portage Path (19110 and Western Reserve and Early Ohio (1921).

PP Cherry lived the balance of his life in Kenmore, just two blocks from where she grew up. So she visited him often and enjoyed the excitement of all the people who stopped by to hear his stories.

Quite a bit had been written about Ruth Zeh, too. As a longtime resident of Kenmore, she was invited to be the Grand Marshal in its Centennial Parade on Memorial Day 2008. Ruth was featured in The Suburbanite and she was a delight. She loved the Portage Lakes and loved her days of fishing with her husband.
