“Thank You, Lord” was the theme for the second annual St. Luke – North Canton Senior Vacation Bible School. The program replicated a “good ole fashioned Vacation Bible School” and included a Bible story presented with flannel graph, songs, a craft project and refreshments. The 2009 event featured the story of Jesus healing the 10 lepers and the one who returned to thank him (Luke 17:11-19). Pastor Rice lead the activity. Volunteers from St. Stephen Martyr Lutheran Church, Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and The Chapel in North Canton among others assisted Pastor Rice with the day’s craft project and serving refreshments. Senior VBS met from 2:30-4:00 p.m. the first four Wednesdays in July. The program traveled through Laurel Valley, Muirfield Village, Twin Hills, Southern Hills and Cypress Point.
Residents relived treasured memories and experienced rediscovered joys as they recalled their days attending VBS as a youngster and/or as serving as a teacher, craft leader, cookie baker or other helper. Everyone really enjoyed their experience and claimed it as one of the highlights of their summer.
