Police Chief David Zink expects more evidence seized from the home of Scott D. Studer to be forwarded to township detectives for review Friday.

As of Wednesday, police had identified 64 victims whom Studer secretly videotaped nude in the varsity locker room at Jackson High over multiple years. The number of victims grew from 38 to 60 Tuesday. Police identified four more Wednesday.

Zink says township police have reviewed roughly eight hours of video seized from Studer’s 5141 Pin Oak Ave. NW home on Nov. 14. Studer, the school’s former freshman boys basketball coach, faces six counts of illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material.

U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigators and township police seized computer hard drives during a search of Studer’s home last week.

The Postal Inspection Service is believed to be investigating the purchase of child pornography.

Zink said he anticipates that the Postal Inspection Service will forward more material to his department Friday.

“We’re through the examination of the material we have in our possession now,” Zink said Wednesday. “We’ll get more (from the Postal Inspection Service Friday).

“There is a great deal more information we have to go through,” he added.

Township police have been responsible for identifying victims and notifying them and their parents. Studer waived his right to a preliminary hearing in Massillon Municipal Court Wednesday. He remains in the Stark County Jail on $2 million bond.

The case will now head to a Stark County grand jury for review.

Studer, 46, has admitted to police that he began filming the student athletes in 2005. The six state charges reflect video recorded from 2007 through 2012. On Wednesday, city Prosecutor John Simpson said he expects the charges to change at some point to reflect the number of victims.

Zink said all the video was from the boys varsity locker room. No one has come forward with additional allegations against Studer, Zink said.

Attorney General Mike DeWine’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation has offered to help interview juvenile victims. Zink said he is unclear how far the federal investigation has progressed. Studer has resigned from his position of coach and Jackson High School building aide.
