When someone asked a man about the four lacrosse sticks and a football he was trying to sell in a local sporting goods store, he told them he’d been the lookout at the house from which they were stolen, Stark County Jail records said.
A short time later, Joshua J. Fontes, 18, of 1112 Linwood Ave. SW in North Canton, was arrested.
Jail records said the items had been stolen from a township residence, and that Fontes was trying to sell them at the Play It Again Sports, 4086 Belden Village St. NW, about 1 p.m. Tuesday.
Fontes remained jailed early Wednesday, held in lieu of $50,000 bond pending a hearing in Massillon Municipal Court.
