The Springfield Township Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a township man early Thursday.
James Z. Cody, 55, was found dead in his home Thursday when officers responded to a reported shooting at the residence in the 1500 block of Gregory Drive at about 6 a.m.
Police charged Sharon L. Hall with murder in connection with Cody’s shooting death.
According to police, Hall was Cody’s live-in girlfriend.
Police did not release information about a motive or other details of the incident.
Hall was booked into the Summit County Jail Thursday.
A female from the household was taken into police custody at the scene.
Cody once placed signs in his front yard protesting against a sex offender next door.
According to police, it is not believed to have been a domestic situation and had nothing to do with Cody's dispute with the neighbor.
Authorities said the shooting remains under investigation.
