During the summer months, the Massillon Public Library will display artwork from a local collective, including the works of Anna Rufener, Tara Dumm and Lindsey Nodo.

A local artist collective is an initiative that is the result of a group of artists working together, usually under their own management, and always working toward shared aims.

The “Local Collective: Spring-Summer 2012” exhibits artwork created by multiple emerging female artists from the Stark County area.

Artists displaying work include recent graduates from Columbus College of Art and Design and Malone University practicing multiple fine art medias, ranging from jewelry to fibers and painting.

The “Local Collective” is a collaborative salon style show, displaying the concept and style of each individual artist.

Inspirations for this collective developed from their personal experiences, and various influences from their respective environments and cultures – all originating within Ohio’s surroundings.

The library features the works of local artists in the public Computer Center, where the art may be viewed during regular library hours.

Local artists who would like to include their art in the rotating exhibit can contact Karen Koher at the library’s Computer Center: 330-832-9831, Ext. 327.

The Massillon Public Library is located at 208 Lincoln Way E. The Second Street entrance is handicap accessible.
