- A 21-year-old Frank Avenue man was booked into the Stark County Jail July 19 on a domestic violence charge. Police said he threatened his brother with bodily harm and then grabbed him by the arms and pushed him. The brother had visible red marks and scratches on both arms, police noted.

- Also on July 19, a Knight Street man called police after someone fired a shot at his home. He later removed what appeared to be a small caliber bullet from his wooden deck. Police were investigating.

-  A 73-year-old Perry Township woman was charged with theft July 18 at a Dressler Road department store. A loss prevention officer said he saw the woman concealing merchandise and leaving the store without paying.

- A Canal Fulton woman reported July 18 that someone used her credit card number and personal information to make an online purchase of $257.30. She has since canceled the card and notified her bank of the fraudulent transaction.

- On Island Drive NW, a resident reported his 1999 Jeep was stolen from his driveway sometime during the overnight hours of July 17. The vehicle was recovered the next day in Summit County.

- On July 17, police were alerted to a drug sale in progress in a restaurant parking lot on Portage Street. Officers located the vehicle matching the call-in description and conducted a consented search. A black bag containing 11 grams of marijuana was reportedly found under the driver’s seat. Also found were several plastic baggies, a grinder and a scale. A 19-year-old man of Palmer Drive NW was charged with trafficking in marijuana and booked into the Stark County Jail.

- A 6th Street man told police July 17 that someone used his personal information to obtain a credit card. He learned of the fraud after receiving a bill for $1,900 for several pairs of sunglasses that were bought at an eyeglass store in the Belden Village Mall.

- Also on July 17, a Barrington Place woman complained to police that the people across the street lock their dogs in the garage when they go away for the weekend and the dogs are constantly barking. She said she contacted multiple agencies about the problem but no one has been able to help.

- A 19-year-old Minerva woman was charged with theft July 16 at a Dressler Road department store. Police said she took two pairs of earrings into a fitting room and placed them into her purse after removing the tags.

- Thieves stole three catalytic converters from vehicles during the overnight hours of July 16. Two of the incidents occurred at residences on Shaftesbury Drive NW and the third was at a residence on Greenview Circle.

- A Wildwood Circle man, 23, was charged with theft July 16 for allegedly stealing a $30 pair of headphones from a mall department store.

n Someone broke into a children’s coin-operated ride outside a Strip Avenue store July 16 and stole $210.

- A Canton man, 31, of Garfield Avenue NW, was arrested July 15 on charges of theft and criminal trespass. He is accused of stealing a shopping cart full of groceries from a Mega Street department store. Police later discovered he was on a no-trespass list at a sister store in Canton for a previous shoplifting offense.

-  Police were called to a beauty supply store on Dressler Road after an employee said two women left without paying for $10 worth of items.

- A 33-year-old Barberton man was charged with possession of drugs July 15 after an officer found two marijuana cigars in his car outside a Dressler Drive bar. The man was sitting in his car in the parking lot when the officer approached him. When the man rolled down his window, the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from inside. One of the cigars was found half-burnt in an ashtray. 

- On July 14, police responded to a one-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Stuhldreher Street NW and Wales Avenue. The driver identified as a 19-year-old Canton man was charged with underage alcohol consumption. His blood alcohol content registered .157, police said.

- Also on the same evening, an Odessa, Texas man, 36, was charged with disorderly conduct after police said he was involved in a fight with another man at a Dressler Road bar. Reports said he took the man to the ground and gave him a bloody nose.
