A fire that caused $2.2 million in damage at the Microtel hotel in Jackson Township started in a mulch bed outside the hotel, Jackson Fire Chief Tracy Hogue said Friday in a news release.
Investigators from the Jackson department and fire prevention bureau and the Ohio Fire Marshals’ Fire and Explosion Unit determined the blaze began on the north side of the building and spread to the attic. The causse remains undetermined.
The fire loss has been set by the insurance company at $2 million on structure and $200,000 thousand on contents.
