A Licking County judge has been appointed to fill a vacancy with the 5th District Court of Appeals.

Gov. John Kasich appointed Craig R. Baldwin, a Licking County Domestic Relations Court judge, to replace retired Judge Julie A. Edwards.

Stark County Common Pleas Court Judge Lee Sinclair, who is retiring, had applied for the opening with the 5th District Court of Appeals.

Sinclair has been a judge since 1995.

Baldwin received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Ohio University and received a law degree from Capital University.

Sinclair will remain a Stark Common Pleas judge until Kasich appoints a replacement. Vying for the seat are Lori A. Flowers, Jean Madden and Curt Werren.
