A funeral service for Stark County Sheriff-elect Michael A. McDonald will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville.
McDonald, 54, died Friday after an extended illness. McDonald spent 35 years with the Stark County Sheriff’s office and was elected as sheriff in November. Due to illness, McDonald was unable to take office Jan. 7.
Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Canton Civic Center in the McKinley Room. Fraternal Order of Police services will be at 2:45 p.m. Monday.
McDonald’s family asks that memorial contributions be made to support local cancer patients through the Canton Relief Fund at North Canton Medical Foundation.
Stier-Israel is handling the funeral arrangements.
