The National Weather Service forecast shows up to 3 inches of snow could fall today in this area as winds out of the west could whip up to 20 mph.

The weather service’s website at www.erh.noaa.gov said the show showers were likely after 1 p.m.

“The snow could be heavy at times,” the weather service said.

The daytime temperature was expected to reach 23 degrees before falling to an overnight low of 13, the website said.

At 10:45 a.m., the temperature at the Akron Canton Airport was 18 degrees with a wind-chill making it feel like 4 degrees, and winds were out of the west at 14 mph with gusts up to 24, the weather service said.
