Lake Center Christian School senior throws standout Jenae Linville has verbally committed to attend Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Linville will throw the discus, hammer weight, and shot put at Grand Valley State, which is the defending NCAA Division II indoor and outdoor national champions in women’s track and field and competes in the GLIAC. She plans to study chemistry.
Linville, who seeks a third trip to the state track and field championships this June, received plenty of college interest. She also was recruited by schools from the Big Ten, Ivy League, SEC, ACC, MAC, Sun Belt and Big East conferences.
She is a two-time outdoor state qualifier in the discus, and reached state in the shot put last year. Also, a year ago at the state indoor meet she placed sixth in the shot put and seventh in the weight throw.
Linville holds school records for the discus (144-4), shot put (38-2) and weight throw (43-2), in addition to the Norwayne Division III District record in the discus (142-3).
