A 44-year-old Akron man was killed in an alcohol-related crash early Friday morning on Interstate 77 when he lost control of his car, investigators said.

Stacey Juniel was driving a Buick Park Avenue midway between the Akron-Canton Airport and Massillon Road exits at 12:50 a.m. when the car went off the right side of the road, rolled over and threw him and three other people from the vehicle, said Inspector William Holland of the Summit County Sheriff’s Department.

Gary Guenther, chief investigator for the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office, said Juniel was pronounced dead at the scene.

Holland said Juniel’s passengers were taken to Akron City Hospital. Their names and conditions were not available.

Holland listed alcohol as a factor in the crash, which remained under investigation later Friday.
