The victim of Friday’s fatal traffic accident in Green was identified as Canal Fulton resident Amber M. Jacobson, 33.
Jacobson, who lived in the 900 block of Shackleton Drive, had been driving a Toyota Matrix north on Arlington Road Friday afternoon when she ran into the rear of a van that had stopped, according to the Summit County sheriff’s staff.
Jacobson was taken to Akron City Hospital, where she was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
“There is no evidence of any medical event,” Gary Guenther, chief investigator for the Summit County Medical Examiner, said. “She died of blunt-force trauma to the chest.”
As of Monday, Summit County authorities did not have a cause for the crash.
“The investigation is still ongoing,” Inspector Bill Holland of the sheriff’s staff said.
An 84-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Toyota Matrix was taken to Akron City Hospital. Holland did not have her identification or any update on her condition.
A man who was in the van also was taken to the Summa Green Emergency Room.
