The body of a 78-year-old Akron man was found in the Nimisila Reservoir on Monday.

David Menhorn Sr. was discovered floating in the water approximately 20 yards from shore, said Gary Guenther, chief investigator of the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office. Menhorn was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:12 a.m.

Fishermen at the lake alerted authorities to the scene, and Summit County sheriff’s deputies and the Green Fire Department responded.

There appeared to be no evidence of criminal activity, said Investigator Bill Holland of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.

The death remains under investigation by the sheriff’s department and the coroner. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
