Step back in time with Metro Parks to learn about daily life at a time when Ohio was the country's western frontier.
Join a naturalist and a volunteer to discover how early Summit County settlers survived and ultimately thrived, Friday, July 27, from 7 to 9 p.m., in Firestone Metro Park’s Tuscarawa s Meadows Area, 2620 Harrington Rd., Akron.
"We will explore how pioneers used native creatures in their everyday lives," said Naturalist Mike Greene. "Only 45,000 people called Ohio home in the late 1700s, and these early settlers faced many challenges from the natural world around them."
Bring a chair and marshmallow sticks. If it rains, the program will be moved to the shelter.
