Led by record-breaking performances by Chase Kinney and Biz Graeff, the Meyers Lake YMCA Manta Rays swim team finished third Wednesday in the Mid-Ohio Swim League championship meet at Wooster.

Kinney and Graeff, both stars on the Jackson High School swimming team, had a hand in setting four pool records.

Kinney, the 2012 Division I state champion in the 50-yard freestyle, broke two individual records that had stood for more than 20 years at Wooster. She won the girls 15-18 100 freestyle in 52.85, breaking the record of 52.95 set in 1978. Her winning time of 58.62 in the girls 15-18 100 butterfly shattered the mark of 59.87 set in 1989.

Kinney also joined Graeff, Mary Mazey and Rachel McGhee in winning the girls 15-18 medley relay in a pool-record 1:56.66. The old record was 1:56.75.

Graeff set her individual pool record in the girls 15-18 100 backstroke, going 1:01.71. The old mark of 1:01.85 stood since 2002.

The Manta Rays fall-winter program starts in September. For more information, contact the Meyers Lake YMCA at 330-454-9018.
