A township teen was arrested at his home where police found him and friends with stolen property and marijuana late Monday night.

An 18-year-old boy, who lives in the 6600 block of Casper Drive NW, was arrested at his home at 10:51 p.m. when police went there in response to a noise complaint, Stark County Jail records said.

He answered the door for police, but then quickly closed and locked it, the jail records said.

When a neighbor alerted officers that other youth had run from the back of the house, police found the rear sliding glass door open by several inches and saw recently stolen property lying inside the house, the jail records said. The records did not identify the property or list from where it had been stolen.

After announcing their presence several times, police entered the home and found the boy who lives in the house and a friend in a downstairs bedroom. The boy’s friend was found hiding in a wall in the room, the jail records said.

Police also seized an undisclosed amount of marijuana, a digital scale used to weigh it and an undisclosed amount of money the boy who lives there had on his person. They also seized marijuana pipes.

The 18-year-old was jailed on charges of felony drug trafficking, receiving stolen property and obstructing official business, the jail records said.

Information about the other youth wasn’t listed.
