OTHER ACTION
• Heard that John Pizzino, vice president of the board of trustees, and Jackson Township Police Chief Zink have worked out funding to provide two part-time police officers to increase the security presence at Jackson Local Schools.
Pizzino said he and Zink have been working for the past two years with Jackson Local Schools Superintendent Chris DiLoreto and Assistant Superintendent Barry Mason to find a way to fund more security for the district. “The officers will be housed at the Jackson Memorial Middle School and can respond to any of the schools,” Zink said.
“It will allow us to have a security presence during school hours that we did not have before. This is in addition to the regular patrols that have been going into the schools,” he said.
