KEY ACTION Promoted Gary Martin to the rank of captain.
DISCUSSION Dozens of firefighters came to see Martin sworn in. Fire Chief Tracy Hogue praised Martin for his work ethic, and added that Martin will serve as safety training officer for the department.
OTHER ACTION
• Approved buying a $35,935 Bobcat loader for the Highway Department.
• Awarded a $32,006 contract to JD Striping of Ravenna to stripe township roads.
• Agreed to advertise for bids for the Lake O’ Springs and Brunnerdale avenues NW resurfacing project. The roads will be resurfaced from Hills & Dales Road NW to Shuffel Drive.
• Set a public hearing for 5:15 p.m. Aug. 14, for a rezoning request. McKinley Presidential wants to rezone 2.28 acres, south of Traphagen Street NW, and west of Wales Avenue, from business to multi-family residential use.
