A local developer has snatched up another prime piece of vacant land in the I-77 and Shuffel Street NW area.

Hossler Development recently paid $1.5 million for 22 acres on the southeast corner of Shuffel and Frank Avenue. The property, north of Sunset Hills Burial Park, was purchased from Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2223.

Eagles club officials did not return calls seeking comment for this story.

Howard Wenger, managing member for Hossler, said he has no immediate plans for the site.

In June, Hossler Development had sold 23 acres along I-77 to the Timken Co. for $1.6 million. Timken officials said they had no immediate plans for that site — south of its global technology center campus.
