Township firefighters rescued a crying 6-year-old boy from a house rooftop Saturday afternoon.
Police were called to the area, in the 8300 block of Kellydale Avenue NW, around noon. The Fire Department then was summoned to the single-story ranch-style house.
The boy’s 32-year-old mother arrived at about the same time. According to a police report, she admitted leaving her son home alone while she went to a grocery store.
She’s to appear in Massillon Municipal Court on Aug. 23 to face a misdemeanor charge of child endangering.
