Lake Township police seeking suspects

The Lake Township Police Department is requesting help from the public in its search for two suspects in a string of thefts in the area.

The department is looking for Clayton James, 21, of Akron, and Amanda K. Haren, 23, also of Akron.
James is described as beign 6 feet one inch tall with short brown hair. He has several tattoos on the outer right arm.

Haren, also known as Amada Scalf, has blonde, straight shoulder-length hair.

The pair is wanted on felony theft warrants from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office as well as the Hudson, Kent and Akron police departments for robbery and theft.

They are believed to be driving a 2008 or 2009 Chrysler Sebring that is silver with a dealer license plate number 9-9187.

According to Lake Police Capt. David Brown, the suspects have committed several thefts at drug stores and food chains as well as other forgery-type thefts.

On June 24, the suspects were spotted at the Marc’s store in Hartville by an off-duty Lake Township officer. When approached by the officer, they fled in the Chrysler, dragging the clinging officer through the parking lot.

The officer received medical treatment at the scene and was released.

There are two stickers on the rear of the car, one red and one white on each side of the plate., showing a silhouette of a winged woman.

Brown said the suspects are considered dangerous and are being sought by several agencies. He said the public should not try to apprehend them, but should instead notify their local police department.
