It was announced that Assistant Superintendent Linda Martin will be leaving Green.
She will take a position as Assistant Superintendent with the Olentangy School District in Columbus. The Olentangy Board of Education approved a two-year contract at their June 30 meeting. Martin will start Aug. 1 at a salary of $119,000.
Olentangy is the school district that former Green Superintendent Dr. Wade Lucas recently took over in the spring. Lucas brought Martin to Green to fill the newly created Assistant Superintendent position two years ago. There was a good deal of speculation that she would go to Olentangy if offered a position similar. She had worked with Lucas prior to coming to Green in the Coshocton-area.
Green board member Dr. Victor Pinheiro said, “Linda was a good person but received a better offer and will assume the same position down there. She was brought to Green by Dr. Lucas and they have worked together before. At the present time the position of assistant superintendent is open, but the board has not really talked about replacing her.”
