A Shoreway Circle youth was charged with underage consumption and arrested by Jackson Township police July 18. She was booked into Stark County Jail.
An Alliance woman, 28, was charged with disorderly conduct July 17 following an incident at a local pub. She was voluntarily intoxicated and was arrested after repeated requests by reporting officers to leave. She was transported and booked into Stark County Jail.
An Akron man, 24, was charged with petty theft July 16 after he was observed on closed circuit television removing power equipment from a store on Belden Village Mall NW. He placed the items in the cart and passed all points of purchase. He was detained and the $413 of merchandise was recovered.
A Canton woman, 42, was charged with petty theft July 16 after she entered a local business and placed selected items into her purse. She left without paying. She was detained. In her purse were five packs of razor cartridges, two razors, and two boxes of Prilosec. The total amount of stolen items was $177.66. She was booked into the Stark County Jail.
A Massillon man, 28, was charged with obstruction of official police business July 17 after he gave police an incorrect address and birth date at the scene of an automobile accident.
An Island Drive woman, 46, was charged with petty theft July 15 after she was observed placing a pair of earrings in her pocket and leaving the store without paying. She was booked into Stark County Jail for the theft of the $10.50 earrings.
A Charleston, South Carolina, woman, 36, was charged with one count of DWI and driving in marked lanes July 14. She was operating a vehicle in the Belden Village area when police found her to be under the influence of alcohol. She was stopped for leaving her lanes of traffic. She was evaluated in the field and given a divided skills test and interviewed. A breath sample test was collected and the defendant registered a BAC of .143. She was booked into Stark County Jail.
A Massillon woman, 18, was charged with petty theft and obstructing official business July 9 when she was observed removing a price tag from a pair of socks and putting them into her purse. She left the specialty store without paying. She was stopped and the socks were found in her purse. She was booked into Stark County Jail on the theft charge. She gave police a false address and date of birth to the arresting officer and the store.
A Paris, Ohio, woman, 37, was charged with petty theft after she concealed $171.96 in clothing and jewelry in her purse July 13. Store security stopped her and she did admit to the theft. She was booked into Stark County Jail.
A Canton man, 22, was charged with one count of menacing by stalking, carrying a concealed weapon and improper handling of firearms. The man has been stalking the victim for more than a week. He had been sending unwanted items and he was waiting for her before and after work. He was told by the victim to stop and she did not want to be in a relationship with him. On July 11, the defendant went to her place of employment and waited for her. When she arrived he brandished a loaded pistol in his waistband and stated, “You need to be with me.” Officers responded to her place of employment. He gave the police permission to search his car and police found a loaded pistol in the driver's side door pocket. The victim believes he will cause her harm and possibly himself. He was arrested and transported.
On July 14, a copper vase valued between $500 and $600 was stolen from a local cemetery.
On June 28-29 a resident in the 5000 block of Snowshoe said her fence was damaged. The July 14 report said the wood and metal fence had been damaged as well as the wood post removed from the ground.
Person(s) unknown removed a GPS unit from an unlocked vehicle in the 4000 block of Dartmouth Avenue July 16. That same night, person(s) unknown entered a vehicle nearby and removed a GPS unit and an XM radio from an unlocked vehicle.
Jackson Police received a report of 90 Zanax pills missing from a drug store in the 4000 block of Portage Street. Apparently when the victim went to pick up the prescription she was told the prescription had already been picked up July 8.
A resident in the 5000 block of Echo Hill Avenue reported person(s) unknown entered her unlocked vehicle and removed a satellite radio July 15.
Ladies and men's jeans, T-shirts and socks were reported stolen July 13. The reportee told the suspects to stop and drop the merchandise while they were fleeing the Mega Street store. A license plate number was obtained from the vehicle the suspects used in the get-away.
A front door of a home in 3000 block of Perry Drive was forced open and currency, a diamond ring, a diamond wedding band and miscellaneous jewelry was taken. Also missing was a small brown basket with handles containing soap. The theft occurred July 15.
A light bulb was thrown onto the front porch of a home in the 3000 block of Riviera Avenue July 14. The bulb was thrown at the front door. The bulb was shattered but the door was not damaged.
Person(s) unknown removed a 12-inch by 12-inch glass window from the south side of a business on Wales Avenue then cut the master lock off the door. Once inside the intruder stole currency, coins and a Dell computer screen between July 15-16.
A Waterford Avenue resident reported the neighbor's chicken were loose and on his property again. He said on July 15 this is an ongoing issue and attempts to resolve the problem have been unsuccessful. An investigation is ongoing.
An East Blvd. resident reported person(s) unknown used their Visa debit card account to purchase merchandise in the Utah area July 16.
