Trick-or-Treat night for the City of Green is Saturday, October 31 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. All households who wish to participate should leave their porch light on during that time.
In the past, council has always set the trick-or-treat time as the last Sunday of the month per resolution; however, this year council has determined that the mayor with advice from the superintendent of parks and recreation should determine the date and time.
"This year Halloween falls on a Saturday night, which makes picking the trick-or-treat night simple,” said Mayor Norton. “While neighborhood associations may select their own time, we are encouraging them to choose the time we set.”
Extra sheriff deputies will be patrolling the city to ensure the safety of those participating.
