Construction of a $7.9 million dollar project is underway in Coventry Township. Orange barrels have been rolled out along state Route 93 (Manchester Road) and will be evident until the project is completed in August 2014.

This project includes the widening of  Route 93 from just south of Proehl Avenue to just north of Cormany Road. As a part of this project, Robinson Avenue at Route 93 will also be widened. This project will allow for one through lane in each direction from south of Robinson Avenue to just north of Cormany Road where it will be added.

“During the project, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction of Route 93, but various side streets will be closed at various times for drainage and widening work,” said Brent Kovacs, public information specialists with ODOT District 4.

The first lane restriction is underway as Route 93 just south of Proehl Avenue to just north of Cormany Road. Traffic is reduced to one lane in  each direction. This restriction is expected to last until late October.

Also the eastern intersection of Robinson Avenue and Route 93 will remain closed through early May. The detour will be Route 93 to Portage Lakes Drive to Cormany Road.

In early May, Cormany Road and Cove Road on the east side of Route 93 will be closed for 14 days. Following this closure in mid-July, the western intersection of Robinson Avenue and Route 93 will be closed for 14 days.

The detour will be Route 93 to State Road.

Finally, Proehl Dive., Nola Court, Garson Drive, and Rood Drive on the west side of Route 93 will be closed for 14 days. These streets are expected to close in early August through late October. Detours will be posted prior to the closures.

Closures will be staged to ensure access is maintained to all roadways and adjacent properties at all times during construction.
