Christine Croce filed petitions with the Summit County Board of Elections for the Barberton Clerk of Courts race. Croce is an attorney and currently serves as Executive Director of the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. Croce has served on Green City Council since 2005.
A 24 year resident of Summit County, Croce received both her Bachelor’s and law degree from the University of Akron.
Croce has an expansive knowledge of the court system. Croce has worked in the criminal justice system for over 17 years; in the City of Akron Law Department and Prosecutor’s Office, as an assistant Summit County Prosecuting Attorney, and as Executive Director for the Summit County Sheriff’s Office.
The Barberton Municipal Clerk of Courts office serves the communities of Barberton, Green, Norton, New Franklin, Copley, Coventry and Clinton. The Clerk is the official record keeper of the court.
The Clerk must accurately maintain, safeguard and store all court documents as well as collect and disburse all monies as directed under the Ohio Revised Code.
Croce believes the Court Clerk must be accountable to tax payers and will make it a priority to provide professional, courteous, and responsive service to individuals who use the Court and to the agencies the Clerk of Courts office works with on a daily basis.
“As Clerk of the Barberton Municipal Court, I will run a professional office,” said Croce. “In these tough economic times it is important for all elected officials to exercise fiscal responsibility. I am committed to providing efficient, professional service and improving the delivery of court services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.”
