Not long after Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas told Oprah Winfrey that she had been subjected to racism at a gym in her hometown of Virginia Beach, the gym responded by saying the reports were false. Douglas told Winfrey that she was called a "slave" and "felt isolated," and the treatment in part led to her move to Iowa to train. Gustavo Moure, the CEO of Excalibur Gymnastics, denied that Douglas was ill-treated and said, "Is Gabrielle a credible person just because she is an Olympic champion? She is not giving any names or dates, leading us to believe that the accusation is fake."
