Sheriff Drew Alexander announced the indictment of 66 defendants culminating a two-year investigation into organized gambling in Summit County. The investigation centered around illegal “Vegas Nigh” operations. Ohio law allows charities to sponsor these events but requires all participants to be volunteers and prohibits paying any of the participants. Charges include engaging in a patter of corrupt activity, money laundering, grand theft, operating a gambling house and gambling.

Defendants indicted as a result of this investigation are: Michael Moneypenny, Milinda Moneypenny, Vince Balas, Lynn Alsip, Darcie Layne, Alecia Moneypenny, Sami Mustafa, John Riddle, David Dodds, Linda Watson, Brian Pelfrey, Hani Faris, Neltia Ferguson, Cindy Starling, Sarah Moneypenny, Steven Saris, Bradley Fox, Gregory Habrat, Leonard Papp, Michael Moneypenny, Jr., Michael Clark, Khammone, Rassavong. Nicole Betzner, Stephanie Betzner, Vincent Campisi, Michael Caslow, Michael Esterle, Troy Hudkins, Steven Jarrett, Jeremy Lowery, Steve Natoli, John Nice, James Sams, Jerry Shinn, Robert Street, Donald Swartout, Patrick Thomas, Bruce Wells, Jacqueline Roman, Terrance O’Flanagan, Eugene Oestreicher, Manivanh Sivieng, David Schaber, Taylor Rogers, Mitchell Range, Vince Orban, Angela Guthrie, Rachel Ferguson, Thomas Lavaco, James Anderson, Dennis Arnold, Ashok Baldev, Jerry Bledsoe, Richard Elliott, David Fievett, Nannette Christopher, Heidi Cottrell, Robert Dean, Arnise Duncan, Charbel Elias, Jeff Adams, Stephen Alsip, Scott Alsip and David Kukasky.

Five residential properties, one commercial property in Wheeling, West Virginia and six vehicles are all being seized in connection to the investigation.
