The Russian government has offered to meet with representatives of the main opposition group in Syria, the AP reports. Russia had previously criticized other countries for recognizing the rebellion as the legitimate voice of the Syrian people. While the offer is not a formal recognition, it shows Russia acknowledges the group's significance.
