During the times of July 23-24, a victim reported he had lost his wallet. He said he last saw it while paying for his meal at a Dressler Road restaurant. He believes he may have left the wallet there. He called the business and nothing had been reported.

On July 24, a suspect was observed by store loss prevention personnel as he placed concealed items in his pants pockets. The item were two bottles of cologne valued at $20. When the suspect was confronted by store officers, he fled the Strip Avenue location in a vehicle with a female driver.

While parked at a restaurant on Belden Village Avenue, a victim reported July 24 that items were removed from a vehicle. Person(s) unknown entered through an already-broken window on the driver's side. The dashboard was ripped apart and a CD stereo unit was removed.

Jackson police received a report July 24 from a Mega Street business that an unknown suspect opened a Wii Guitar Hero video game and put the contents in his pants while hiding under a clothing rack. A second suspect was acting as look-out for the first suspect. Both suspects exited the store without paying for the items. Once outside, the suspects were confronted and asked for the items back. The first suspect walked back inside the store and dropped the items into a car and then turned and ran. The two suspects fled the scene in a Cutlass.

An unknown suspect stole candy bars from a convenient store in the 4000 block of Portage Street July 26. Three people entered the store but one put the candy bars in his cargo pants and left without paying.

A suspect attempted to steal three shirts and a pair of jeans totaling $128.79 from a department store at Belden Village Mall. The male was videotaped putting the items into a shopping bag and fleeing without making payment July 25.

While having her kitchen remodeled, a Jackson Township resident reported her Cutco knives were missing.

Jackson police responded to an alarm July 23 at a business on Hills and Dales Road. The reporting officer discovered the north door to the bar was pried open. A Vizio flat screen television was missing from the wall.

On July 21-22, person(s) unknown entered a property on Traphagen Street and damaged the pool ladder and a skimmer cover. The valued loss is estimated at $50.

A Paris, Ohio woman, 37, was charged with one count of forgery and petty theft July 25 when a retail employee observed the defendant select and conceal a yellow shirt valued at $4.50. The employee approached the defendant and asked if she could help her. The defendant became irate and started to scream and use profane language. She was shown to the customer service department where she waited for police to arrive. She was arrested for theft. She was also found to be in possession of a stolen drivers license. She had used the license to make a fraudulent return and forged a signature. She was booked into Stark County Jail.

An Alliance woman, 36, was observed by store security taking two items into a fitting room and returning with only one item. She was confronted and admitted she had the item on her person. She offered to pay for the item. She was charged with one count of petty theft.

A Stuhldreher Street man, 26, was charged with using a weapons while intoxicated, domestic violence and aggravated menacing following a July 25 incident in which he was under the influence of alcohol and verbally threatened to cause physical harm to his live-in girlfriend. The victim said he used his hands to push and toss her onto the garage floor and into a lawn tractor. The victim told police the defendant threatened her with a loaded 12-gauge shotgun causing her to fear for her life. The defendant was arrested and booked into Stark County Jail.

A Kentucky native with no permanent address, 21, was observed at a Strip department store selecting clothing from the men's department and attempting to leave without paying for the items. He was confronted and the items, totaling $67.98, were recovered. The man was charged with one count of petty theft and booked into Stark County Jail July 24.

A Millersburg man, 20, was observed removing a tag from a bracelet and place the bracelet into his pocket July 23. The item cost $1.99. He was arrested for petty theft and booked into Stark County Jail.

An Island Drive man, 45, was asked to leave a Fulton Drive bar after he engaged in a physical confrontation with the bouncers. The defendant left the scene and was seen hiding in the bushes along Fulton Drive to evade officers. The defendant later returned to the bar and engaged in turbulent behavior at the club. He was later found walking away from the club and was stopped near a marina. The defendant was highly intoxicated and covered in mud and pine needles. He was told several times to comply with officers but became confrontational and tried to walk away from officers. He was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Officers had to use pressure points and soft hand techniques to cuff the defendant. He was booked into Stark County Jail July 24.

A Green man, 41, was charged with one count of illegal use or possession of drug paraphernalia, one count of disorderly conduct and possession of drugs July 25 following an incident at a pub on Dressler Road. The defendant was asked to leave the pub by management and he refused to leave. Officers asked the man to leave and he refused to comply. He threatened the officers by saying, “I just take out cops.” Upon searching the defendant, drug paraphernalia was found in his right front pocket along with green vegetable matter. The defendant was charged and booked into Stark County Jail.

On July 22 Jackson police responded to a call regarding a man with a gun in the 6200 block of Frank Road. Upon arrival, Jackson police located a vehicle parked in the 4000 lot of Mega Street that had a broken window that appeared to have been shot out. Responding officers continued to search the area. Witnesses said the defendant, 21, was seen wearing a white tank top and camouflage pants. Police located a man fitting the description and patted him down. The defendant was found to have a black Phantom pellet gun in his right cargo pants pocket. Witnesses said they saw him with the gun and the defendant admitted to shooting out the car window. A right front window was shot out of a black Cadillac. The defendant was charged with one count of possessing criminal tools and criminal mischief. He was booked into Stark County Jail. 

Store security observed a Canton man, 41, select and conceal numerous DVDs valued at $246.90. He attempted to leave the store without paying July 21. He was stopped and detained. The merchandise was recovered and the defendant was charged with one count of petty theft. He was also wanted in Medina County on a warrant for theft.

A Houston, Texas, man, 60, was observed in a grocery store in the Strip as he selected items and placed them into an empty grocery bag in his possession. He bagged the merchandise in the beverage aisle and grabbed two 12-packs of soda and continued past all points of purchase. He exited the store without paying. He was confronted and returned to the store. He was charged with petty theft for taking $67.80 worth of merchandise July 21. He was booked into Stark County Jail.
