All are invited to remain for the post-concert reception in the museum’s atrium, at which time the two additional scholarships will be announced.

The Tuesday Musical Association Scholarship Program has grown in breadth and scope since the generous bequest from Eva Mae Yockey in 1998, in memory of her brother Arden J. Yockey.  The terms of this bequest were very specific: the money was to be used for scholarships. Today, Tuesday Musical offers both local and state awards and students from across the state compete annually for these awards in the categories of piano, strings, voice, woodwinds and brass. Since Mr. Yockey was an educator in the Norton Public Schools his entire life, Tuesday Musical also established two $1,400 Music Education Scholarships, one local and one statewide.

Tuesday Musical’s Scholarship Program is recognized as one of the best in Ohio and the winners represent tomorrow’s performers, educators and community leaders.   You are invited to attend the recital on May 18th and to discover the extraordinary talent of these promising young musicians.  Admission is free, as is parking across the street in the library’s parking deck.
