New Franklin, Ohio -

Ryan “Wally” Wallace is a Panther turning Pioneer. On April 29, Ryan signed a letter of intent to play football for Malone.

“They have good athletic programs and academics,” said Ryan.

The defensive lineman will study nursing at Malone and eventually wants to become a doctor.

“We liked his work ethic,” said Malone coach Kyle Schenk.

“Wally is a very coachable young man,” said Panther head coach Jim France. “He’s a good person - which is far more important.”

Also a baseball player, Ryan enjoys weightlifting and studying. He is a member of the art club and Key Club. “I don’t get to attend many meetings because of my sports,” said Ryan.

“We’re happy with his choice of Malone,” said Ryan’s dad, Jim Wallace. “Ryan has a lot of interests and he wanted to stay relatively close.”

“We’re very proud,” said Elise, Ryan’s mother.
Ryan said he hopes to stay on the defensive line at Malone.

“There’s no doubt he will contribute to their program,” added France.

When Ryan joins his Pioneer teammates, he will bring his Panther philosophy. “I learned teamwork, responsibility, respect and self discipline from Coach France.”
