The students at Nolley Elementary School in Manchester spent a week at a Rootin' Tootin' Reading Rodeo for their Right to Read Week. The week consisted of a western play performed by their teachers and guest readers who were dressed like cowpokes. It was a special day for Rockin and Readin at the Ranch. The Ranch was a special room decorated with rocking chairs and a camp fire. There was even a "penny war" among the grade levels. The students had the opportunity to go read at the Ranch for the cost of a few pennies throughout the day. The pennies were collected and donated to the American Cancer Society.
