What is aggregation?
Aggregation is buying energy in bulk and passing the savings on to the consumer.

Why aggregate?
By buying large blocks of energy, aggregated groups may reduce a supplier's marketing and administrative costs. This gives the aggregated group greater buying power. The reduced cost may be passed on to the individual consumer in the buying group as savings on energy bills.

What does “opt-out” mean to me, as a consumer?
Each consumer is automatically included in the aggregation pool unless the individual elects to “opt-out” by responding with a provided post card.

So, if I want a 6 percent savings what action should I take?
Nothing. You will be automatically included.

Why an “opt-out” program?
Ohio's electric restructuring law has permitted aggregation in areas served by investor-owned utilities since January 2001. Effective June 2001, state law permitted “opt-out” programs.

Who is eligible to participate in Jackson Township's program?
Ohio Edison customers, if the Nov. 2 issue passes.

If I'm an AEP customer, do I have to opt-out?
No, Ohio Power customers will not be affected.
