Don Robinson of Green received a special commendation from the Ohio House of Representatives. Robinson, a 27-year Roadway employee, drove 3 million consecutive miles without a preventable accident.
The commendation stated he has set an example of safe driving and has distinguished himself as a hard working and dedicated Ohioan.
Three million miles is 120 times around the earth. He plans on going for another million before he retires.
Robinson received a police escort on his way into the terminal that day and was greeted by cheers from his co-workers and family.
It was said that in order to match his record a person traveling 12,000 miles a year would have to be accident free for 250 years.
He also received a plaque from Roadway to mark this achievement. Robinson will be assigned a new truck that will be his alone to drive.
