Robert’s Art Salon, formerly Salon 987, on 987 East Cherry St. in Canal Fulton, went under new ownership this past December. The former owner moved the salon to Uniontown last year, and initially Joni Paone and Debbie Barkhurst went with him to continue working with him. After awhile, they decided to come back to Canal Fulton and reopen the store.

“It was a 24 year long dream to open our own salon,” Barkhurst said. “We’re glad that we are back. This is where we feel at home. We’ve got our old clients, plus new ones. Just been a very positive thing.”

They renamed the store after their husbands’ first names, and have revamped the store. They repainted, replaced parts of the store including the styling and shampoo chairs, and added a nail and pedicure room.

They are centrallly located between Akron, Masillion, Canton and Cleveland off Manchester Rd/Rt. 93. They are open Tuesdays through Saturdays, hours varying, and are closed Sundays and Mondays. Walk ins are welcome.  For information or to set up an appointment, call 330-854-9840.
