Green Christmas Lighting Ceremony

The City of Green’s annual Christmas-at- Central Park Holiday Event is from 4-7 p.m. Dec. 1 at Central Park, 1755 Town Park Blvd. The family-friendly event begins in the Central Park Community Hall with make-and-take crafts. Outside at Central Park, there will be ice sculpture demonstrations, holiday photo spots, and free train rides. At 5:10 p.m., the Green Middle School 8th grade choir will perform followed by a sing-along as Santa arrives via fire truck at approximately 5:30 p.m. to light the community tree. Admission to the event is a donation of a non-perishable food item or personal care item to be donated to Green Good Neighbors as part of the City’s annual Green Gives Back Food Drive. New Franklin Community Christmas

The annual New Franklin Community Christmas Open House and Tree Lighting will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Tudor House on the Portage Lakes, 665 Latham Lane, New Franklin. School and community choral groups will entertain, children's holiday activities will be provided, and Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there for visits and pictures. The event will conclude with the lighting of the New Franklin Christmas Tree and carols around the tree to welcome the Holiday Season. Evening in the Village

An Evening in the Village will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 2 in Historic Downtown Hartville. The evening includes a live nativity, wagon rides, cookie contest and open houses at downtown shops. The Christmas tree in the square will be designated a Remembrance Tree and ornaments with loved ones’ names can be added. Following the lighting, local church, community and school choirs will perform. Visitors can also bid on silent auction items to benefit Love Our Community, a Lake Township non-profit whose projects include the upcoming Christmas gift event for underemployed families. 'Prancer'

"Prancer" is being presented by the Magical Theatre Company, 565 W. Tuscarawa Ave., Barberton, through Dec. 16, showcasing a magical life-size puppet designed and built especially for this production of "Prancer." The show is designed for families ages 6 and up.
