Jackson police and the U.S. Marshals Service arrested a Canton man on Friday for the armed robbery of a hotel two weeks ago.

CANTON  A man suspected of robbing a hotel in mid-October was arrested Friday afternoon by Jackson Township police and the U.S. Marshals Service.

Adriene L. Toles, 40, was arrested at about 1 p.m. at an apartment building in the 1900 block of Sixth Street SW, on a warrant for aggravated robbery. He was taken to the Stark County Jail.

Jackson police said Toles is suspected of going to the Red Roof Inn, at 5353 Inn Circle Court NW, at about 12:45 a.m. on Oct. 16 and asked for money from the cash register and the safe. Police said the suspect showed he had a handgun in the waistband of his pants.

According to court records the suspect got money from the register, but employees couldn't get the safe opened.

Jackson police said the Canton Police Department assisted with the investigation.
