The victim screamed for help after jumping over the counter at Jackson Township restaurant.
JACKSON TWP. After a man bloodied his pregnant girlfriend's face at a local fast-food restaurant, she jumped the counter and screamed for help, Stark County Jail records show.
Then he jumped the counter, wrapped his arms around her and dragged her from the business.
Police called to the Burger King at 4423 Hills & Dales Road NW arrested Jaron J. Lee, 19, of the 1500 block of Shriver Avenue NE in Canton, about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 4300 block of Allen Road, according to the jail records.
Police believe he had struck his girlfriend in the mouth, causing a bloody lip, but no motive was listed in the jail records. The jail records also show that the woman is pregnant with his child.
Lee was jailed on felony charges of domestic violence and abduction.
Lee was convicted in September of misdemeanor assault and unlawful restraint, according to Stark County court records. He was accused of striking a girl in the face as she tried to get out of a car. He was sentenced to two years of probation and community control and ordered into a psychological program. He also was ordered not to have any contact with the victim. The court records did not show whether that victim was the same as the victim on Tuesday.
Court records also show Lee was charged in July with misdemeanor domestic violence in a case involving another girlfriend. He was accused of striking her in the face. That case was reduced to a disorderly conduct. He was convicted and sentenced to 50 hours of community service.
Lee remained in the jail Wednesday, held in lieu of $50,000 bond pending a Massillon Municipal Court hearing.
