A 40-year-old Canton woman was arrested Sept. 29 after she was allegedly caught shoplifting at an Everhard Road clothing store. Police said she put more than $200 worth of items into several bags and walked out without paying. A records check showed she had warrants out on her for failure to appear in court on multiple theft charges.

A Massillon man, 22, was charged Sept. 29 with disorderly conduct by intoxication. Police were called to a Dressler Road bar after employees reported the man became turbulent after being told he had to leave because of his annoying behavior.

On Sept. 28, a Chillingsworth Circle woman told police someone opened an envelope she had in her mailbox and removed a certificate of deposit. Police were investigating.

A Canton woman reported her purse was stolen while she was shopping at a department store in the Belden Village Mall Sept. 28.

A Canton woman, 54, was jailed Sept. 27 on a warrant charging her with domestic violence. Police discovered the warrant after responding to a call of an unwanted person on 20th Street Northwest.

An elderly Knight Street woman reported Sept. 27 that she was scammed out $2,960. She told police that between Aug. 23 and Sept. 27 she wired multiple sums of money for what she believed was a legitimate transaction for services.

An Alliance woman, 28, was arrested on Portage Street Northwest Sept. 27 on a warrant for failure to appear for arraignment. During a routine pat-down, officers found a syringe in her possession that she admitted using to inject meth. She was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments and turned over sheriff’s deputies on the warrant.

A Garfield Heights woman, 37, was booked into the Stark County Jail Sept. 27 on a charge of theft. Police said she left a Dressler Road department store with $137 in merchandise she failed to pay for.

On Sept. 26, a Riviera Avenue woman reported a debit card and $10 in loose change were stolen from her unlocked car.

A Canton woman, 20, was charged Sept. 26 with theft and possession of criminal tools. Police said she knowingly wrote a bad check to pay for merchandise at an Everhard Road store. When told the check was not valid, the woman reportedly picked up the merchandise and left without paying.

A 2005 Buick Lacrosse SUV was reported stolen Sept. 26 from the parking lot of a Higbee Avenue Northwest apartment building.

A Canton man reported a computer tablet, a prescription bottle of medication and other items were stolen from his SUV while he was inside a Belden Village Street restaurant Sept. 26.

A 64-year-old resident of a Higbee Avenue nursing home was arrested Sept. 25 on felony charges of possession of cocaine and aggravated possession of drugs. A staff member called police after she reportedly saw the man using illegal drugs in the facility’s parking lot. Police said they found the man in possession of cocaine and pills not prescribed to him.

Computer equipment valued at more than $24,000 was reported stolen Sept. 25 from an unlocked room at a Freedom Avenue Northwest business.

Police arrested a 28-year-old North Canton man on a felony drug charge Sept. 25 during a traffic stop on Strip Avenue Northwest. Police said the man was driving under suspension and had a bag of methamphetamine in his car.

A manager of a Dressler Road store told police she was doing an inventory check of merchandise when she discovered a $300 sewing machine was missing. She believes the item was stolen sometime between Sept. 17 and 25.

A Canton woman, 54, was charged Sept. 25 with theft and possession of drug abuse instruments. Police said she left a Strip Avenue store with over a $100 worth of merchandise hidden inside her clothing. She was found with crack pipe during her arrest.

On Sept. 24, a Massillon woman called police after she discovered someone smashed a window on her car and snatched her purse while she was inside a Portage Street Northwest restaurant. On the same evening at the location, a North Canton woman reported her purse was stolen from her unlocked SUV. The purse contained a cocktail ring worth $2,500.

An orange and gray baby stroller valued at $580 was reported stolen Sept. 24 from a yard in the 6200 block of Armistice Ave. NW.
