Summit County Fair

The Summit County Fair continues today through July 29 with a variety of events for the entire family. Tonight will feature truck pulls at 7:30 p.m.; Saturday are the tractor pulls at 7 p.m. and Sunday is rough truck at 2 p.m. The Fair grounds are at 229 East Howe Road in Tallmadge. Pirates: Fact or Fantasy

Portage Lakes Branch Library presents "Pirates: Fact or Fantasy?" at 6 p.m. July 31. Captain Blade and the Pirates of the Rusty Cutlass lead participants on a high-sea adventure discussing pirate facts, lore and legend while showcasing unique pirate treasures. New at the zoo

The Akron Zoo will be offering two new events. First, the Carnival of Tails is from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 29. It will feature activities such as carnival games and food, a bouncy house, face painting, animal encounters, clowns and more. Then from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 guests will be asked to solve a zoo mystery during Clue at the Zoo. Thirty pounds of fish have gone missing and it’s believed to be an inside job. During the event, guests will investigate the various animal and staff suspects and read through their case files to determine "whodunit."
